We keep waiting lists for our litters and it's best to get on as many lists as you can just in case Mother Nature throws us a curve and a breeding doesn't take. We are members of the Nor-Cal Keeshond Club and Nor-Cal District Collie Club and refer people to any reputable breeders that we know might be planning a litter.
We also have contracts that go with our puppies and do require spay/neuter of all puppies that will just be companions and not shown. Our puppies are all whelped and raised in the house and very well socialized. In addition, our Kees and Collie are house dogs - no kennels. We perform all the necessary health checks - OFA certification of hips, elbows and stifle checks by orthopedic specialists, PHPT, eye checks by veterinary ophthalmologist and thyroid checks. Those are the main health issues we screen for. ALL sires and dams we use for breeding must pass these health clearances before being bred. We work very diligently on producing structurally sound and temperamentally sound dogs.
We do screen prospective puppy owners. These are our babies and we want the best possible forever home for them that we can find. So if we give you the third degree, please understand that we have the best interests of our furkids in mind! We have a application process that is done for all puppies and adult dogs.
