OBEDIENCE, AGILITY, CONFORMATION, PRIVATE AND SOCIALIZATION

PUPPY PRESCHOOL:

Puppies ages 8 to 16 weeks up to 10 dogs. Learn how to prevent and deal with common puppy problems like chewing, nipping, jumping up, and barking. Teaching your puppy to walk nicely on leash, puppy agility, grooming, come when called, sit and down on request. Socializing your puppy with other dogs and people in a safe environment and, of course, Housetraining! Lessons are an hour per week for 4 weeks. Do NOT bring your puppy to the first lesson. Proof of at least one or two DHPP and Bordetella vaccinations. Class fee $110.00.

PUPPY STAR:

Puppies and Adults 4 months and older. Just starting training off or continuing from Puppy PRESCHOOL. Class size of 15 dogs. We wish to give a general understanding about how a dog thinks, This helps training become easy for the human and, in effect, helps make training easy for the dog to learn. Behavior problem solving and obedience lessons taught one hour per week for 7 consecutive weeks. The first lesson is orientation only; do NOT bring your dog to the first lesson. Dogs must have received all DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies vaccinations. Class fee $130.00 for the first seven week class.

BASIC MANNERS:

Puppies and Adults 5 months and older. Class size is small with a maximum of 15 dogs, and great for socialization . You'll learn the basic commands to train your dog which will help prevent unwanted behaviors. The first lesson is orientation only; do NOT bring your dog to the first lesson. Dogs must have received all DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies vaccinations. Class fee $130.00 for the first 6 week class.

SEMI-PRIVATE BASIC:

Puppies and Adults 5 months and older. Class size is small with a maximum of 5 dogs, and great for socialization . THIS CLASS IS HELD IN THE INDOOR TRAINING ROOM. You'll learn the basic commands to train your dog which will help prevent unwanted behaviors. The first lesson is orientation only; do NOT bring your dog to the first lesson. Dogs must have received all DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies vaccinations. Class fee $105.00 for the first 3 week class.

SENIOR BASIC MANNERS:

Puppies and Adults 6 months and older. Class size is small with a maximum of 15 dogs, and great for socialization . This is step two from the basic manners class. Learning things like the moving down, which will help prevent unwanted behaviors. DO bring your dog to the first lesson. Dogs must have received all DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies vaccinations. Class fee $110.00 for the first 5 week class.

INTERMEDIATE:

Classes are offered to puppies and adults 8 months or better. The class size is limited to a max of 15 dogs. Dogs must have completed our Basic class. Our main focus during the 6-week course is on further obedience commands and socialization. The intermediate commands include 20' stays, all hand signals for the basic commands, drop on heel command, stand for exam and prep for off leash heeling. This class will prepare you for the advanced class. We also cover socializing with both dogs and people. Proof of all vaccines is required (DHPP, Rabies and Bordetella) Class fee is $125.00 DO bring your dog to the first lesson.

ADVANCED:

Advanced obedience expands on the Intermediate class. The class size is limited to 10 dogs. Dog's start off leash work, longer sits and downs, bar jump, broad jump, drop on recall, retrieve work and out of sight stays are all taught. We also cover socializing with both dogs and people. This course meets for 6 lessons and is 60 minutes in length. Please note, unlike the Puppy and Basic classes your dog attends the first lesson. Proof of at DHPP, Rabies and Bordetella vaccination is required. Class fee is $125.00.

CLICKER/TRICK CLASS:

“Clicker training” is a term used to describe a training technique that utilizes a “clicker”. Clicker training has become increasingly popular in the past decade because of its gentle, and very effective approach. The clicker training method utilizes philosophies of operant conditioning. Proof of all vaccines is required (DHPP, Rabies and Bordetella) 2 week class for a Session fee is $40.00.

PRIVATE TRAINING:

If you would rather have the privacy of training your dog in your own home or have a behavioral problem this may be an option for you! We cover such issues as running away, digging, barking, nipping, jumping, housebreaking, chewing, counter surfing, cat chasing and all basic obedience commands. RALLY ' OBEDIENCE:

Rally obedience, or “Rally-O” as it’s quickly being termed by enthusiasts, is the latest American Kennel Club event to hit the show circuit. This class has some characteristics of rally sports car racing, dog agility, and traditional obedience combined into a new fun sport. Classes will be one hour in length and meet for 3 lessons. Proof of all vaccines is required (DHPP, Rabies and Bordetella). Dogs must have completed our Basic class to start Rally'O. Class fee is $70.00.

CONFORMATION:

We hold a drop in conformation class on Monday 5:30-6:30pm and Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:00pm. This class is for dogs and puppies 9 weeks and older. We will help you become a real handler and teach your puppy how to be a show dog! Proof of vaccines are requested (DHPP, Rabies and Bordetella) Class fee is $10.00.

AGILITY TRAINING:

Dogs in this class must respond well to the commands sit, down, come and stay. Prior obedience training classes are recommended. The dogs must be well-socialized and be able to work in a group environment. Emphasis will be placed on obstacle performance as well as on teaching the handlers the necessary training skills and introducing basic handling moves. Agility is taught using only positive reinforcement. The greatest part of this sport is the trust you build between you and your dog. Our agility training is offered in many levels. For dogs that are repeating, we build each session of classes to learn multiple obstacles in sequence. Class size limited to 10 dogs. We try to keep the dogs in the class together as they move up in class levels. It is taught by using positive reinforcement for obstacles done correctly. All training courses are held in a fenced yard. This course meets for 4 lessons and is 60 minutes in length. Please note, unlike the Puppy and Basic classes your dog attends the first lesson. Proof of all vaccines is required (DHPP, Rabies and Bordetella). Class Fee is $90.00.

CANINE GOOD CITIZEN WORKSHOP & TESTING:

The Canine Good Citizen Test is a AKC certification program that tests dogs in simulated everyday situations in a relaxed atmosphere. It identifies and rewards dogs that have the training and demeanor to be reliable family members as well as good-standing community members. All dogs passing the Canine Good Citizen Test receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club. This class meets for two 30 minute sessions. Call for an appointment time.
